Gergeti Trinity Church
A fourteenth-century stone church on a ridge under Mount Kazbek. Reached by unpaved road, and genuinely weather-dependent.
Skiing at Gudauri
A cable car and a lesson on the second morning, at a resort two and a half hours from the capital.
Uplistsikhe cave town
A town carved straight into the rock, on a full day out of Tbilisi with Mtskheta, Jvari and Gori.
Batumi
Europe Square, Piazza Square, the Argo cable car up the hill, and the Ali and Nino statue that moves through itself on the promenade.
Martvili and Okatse canyons
Kayaking through Martvili in the morning; the cantilevered walkway out over the Okatse drop in the afternoon.
Old Tbilisi
The sulphur baths, the old town, and the cable car up to the Narikala fortress — kept for the free last day.
